"To those whom my life may touch in
slight measure, may I give graciously of
what is mine."

             -Delta Zeta Creed
Our national philanthropy supported, by both collegiate and
alumnae chapters, is speech and hearing. One of our newest
philanthropies is The Painted Turtle camp. Delta Zeta's
partnerships with The Painted Turtle and The Starkey Hearing
Foundation were announced at the 2006 National Convention.
All of these important programs provide additional volunteer
and giving opportunities for collegiate and alumnae members.

organizations, feel free to visit the links

Locally, the Kappa Tau chapter hosts or co-hosts many
fundraisers throughout the year to support our national
philanthropies, as well as local causes. These fundraisers include:

*
The Delta Zeta Annual Kickball Tournament - All proceeds
are donated to Mason Gooch, a son of an alumna, to purchase
batteries for his cochlear ear implants. Our kickball tournament is
an intense competition between organizations around campus for
the title of kickball champs!

*
Delta Zeta and Tau Kappa Epsilon Haunted Trail - Half of
the proceeds are donated to the Delta Zeta Foundation, where it
is distributed among our various philanthropies, partners, and
scholarships. This spooky fundraiser is a favorite of the campus
and town!

*
DZ Great Pretenders - All proceeds from this funky lip sync
contest are donated to The Painted Turtle Camp. We try to
sponsor as many campers as possible, at $1500 a camper! This
event began this year, in April 2008, and was a great success!
We plan to keep it going!

*
Self-Defense Workshop - This event is FREE to all women,
but donations are taken at the door for The House Ear
Institute's Family Camp or for other local charities. Judy
Carpenter, a black belt and karate instructor, teaches us how to
handle ourselves and protect ourselves in various situations.

*
Delta Zeta Build A Bear Workshop
The Kappa Tau chapter also participates in various causes
around campus. We annually participate in Relay for Life,
Dance Marathon, Chi-O Follies, Nearly Naked Mile,
Shamrock Week, PIKE's Peak Week, Pi Kappa Phi's No
Boundaries Week, Delta Gamma's Anchor Splash and
Anchor Slam, AKA's Skee Wee Week, and many more.
Many of the Kappa Tau lady's participate as individuals in
causes around Morehead and their hometowns, including
volunteering at Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge, Habitat for
Humanity, volunteering at animal shelters, food drives with
"Tri Pi," clothing drives, and doing lake clean up and trail
clean up in Daniel Boone National Forest.
